Exploring a sensory world

Enjoy a program of workshops and activities that will enliven your senses through touch and sound, inspired by the 'Living in a sensory world: stories from people with blindness or low vision' exhibition, presented in partnership with Vision Australia. The exhibition explores how Australians who are blind or have low vision learn, work, play sport, create art and carry out everyday household tasks.

Audio guides for the exhibition are available at the Museum front desk. Visitors can join a sensory tour of the Museum (12pm, 3–6 December) or Auslan-interpreted tour of the Museum (12pm, 5–6 December).

Join a workshop and wear a blindfold or glasses that replicate eye conditions like glaucoma or macular degeneration and create a 3D portrait using only your hands to engage with your subject (5–6 December, 1.30pm – 3.30pm).

Bookings not required, free with Museum admission.
