Thanks for those great photos…it makes all of us here in the Southern Hemisphere
feel nice and cool!! At least the snow cover is moderate and not impassable but it is very obviously seriously FREEZING COLD…so it is about time you tellus your daily routine and how you fire up your stove to cook you meals…what fuel you use….gas, metho, obvioulsy not much timber around? And I bet there is no underfloor heating when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, right??
Are you meeting the same number of people along the route that you did during the first half when you were so often invited to stay with a friendly family,or has winter made them all move away or hibenate? Do you ever get scared or lonely?
And approx. how many Klms are you averaging per day…are you HALF way there yet?? When did you last speak ENGLISH to someone other than yourselves??
Today is Australia Day so out with the FLAG and have a beer and BBQ for oldtimes sake…we will to your good health and your continuing great efforts….all our love,xx

Happy Australia Day Em & Brendan!

We continue to enjoy sharing this amazing journey via your blog - but today we had the added bonus of reading Em’s article in the Sydney Morning Herald!

Your journey is awe-inspiring to us all. It is the type of life experience that you try to share with others but only the two of you will ever be able to fully appreciate. The extreme physical and emotional conditions you continue to face are hard to comprehend – they will surely provide an enviable strength and bond between you both.

What is the next challenge? It will be hard for future challenges to compare!

Thank you for sharing your journey with us all. We continue to follow your progress and look forward to helping you celebrate this achievement when you get home!

As it is Australia Day – and as Em will be the first Australian woman to Walk the Wall – we send you a loud and proud:

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

    Love,
    Michaela, Brett, Amy & Hayley
