And we’d like to thank . . .

Shortly after we decided to walk the wall, we realised that planning a trip of this scale would require a huge amount of work. At that moment, we vowed to offload as much of that work as possible onto others.

In the Acknowledgements section you can read about some of the wonderful and talented people who have helped us along the way. Each of them has contributed their time, expertise and energy to our journey, and for that we are grateful.

Please take a moment to have a look at their smiling mugs and join us in thanking them.

As two of the very original and apprehensive sceptics with quite a lot of possession issues to handle as well we also join with you in thanking everybody for all their good works and support for E&B.
We all look forward to a successful resumption once the Grand Finals are over!!!

You DO exist!! I too am on a journey from Jiayuguan to Shanhaiguan this year with a friend, and before starting I’d also contacted Beau Basevicious. Right before I left he said there might be an Australian couple going at the same time. He didn’t know how to contact you, and we were never sure how serious you were and if ya’ll had actually made it here–and apparently we started within five days of each other!!
We’re in Tian Zhen, Shanxi right now, just a few days walk from Hebei province, and will probably be done in about a month.
I’m really sorry to hear about yer physical problems; will you be able to make it back this fall to finish?
Although I haven’t yet had time to sit and read yer entire blog, I’m certainly looking forward to it, as maybe I’ll learn a few things about China; ya’ll are definitely the valedictorians of the year, and us? We’re the class clowns! ;~)
I would love it if you dropped me an email, as there aren’t many people on the planet to share war stories with. ;~)
Take care, heal fast, and get yer butts back asap! Happy National China Day! :~)
    Jamie

    Wallnut#2 here…

I’m the Nut travelling with Jamie (above). I’ve been (too) quickly reading over your blog and have to admit, I am sooo jealous. You guys are wayyy more prepared and better at this than us. We went at this with no physical training, two bar slugs with a crazy idea. Well, it was Jamie’s idea….I was drunk when I agreed to go…. Neither of us speak Mandarin, though we’ve picked up a few phrases along the last few months, and to top it off, the gps unit we brought works fine in the states, but absolutely no signal over here. So we’ve been relying on a map that isn’t always accurate (i’m sure you can relate), instincts, and questionable skills drawing pictures of the Wall in the dirt.
As Jamie said, I’d love it if we could meet up at some point…we will be in and around China into December.
Best wishes on a speedy recovery!
    Rob

P.S. You got Qantas and National Geographic to sponsor your trip?? Jamie got a free check up from her dentist and I got an extra $20 from my grandma! You lucky bums!
