How to get to the Powerhouse Museum

The Powerhouse Museum located at 500 Harris St, Ultimo and is close to Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Central Station (Sydney Terminal), Broadway bus station (Railway Square), and Paddy's Markets Monorail Station.

Train and bus Search for the quickest route using the Transport Infoline website. You can enter 'Powerhouse Museum' as the destination. Central Station is the closest railway station to the Powerhouse Museum. From Central Station take the eastern exits to Railway Square/George Street. From the city Catch any bus travelling south on George Street. Get off at Hay St and walk for 5-10 minutes past Paddy’s Market, up the steps and over the walkway to the Museum.

From Central Station Central Station is the closest railway station to the Powerhouse Museum. From Central Station take the eastern exits to Railway Square/George Street. Turn left into George Street and then right into Harris Street. Walk down Harris Street for 5-10 minutes until you reach the Museum on your right.

From Circular Quay Walk to Circular Quay bus stand C. All buses that stop here travel down George Street. Ask for the Hay St stop which should take about 15-20 minutes to reach. From Hay St walk post Paddy’s Market, up the steps and over the walkway to the Museum.
