We aim to provide venues, exhibitions, programs and services which are accessible to, and able to be enjoyed by, all visitors including those with disabilities.

The Powerhouse Museum is an Affiliate of the NSW Government's Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care's Companion Card program. This means that carers who accompany a person with a disability will be eligible for free entry on presentation of their Companion Card. For more information visit www.companioncard.com.au
Free special parking is available at the Museum for vehicles approved to use designated public parking spaces. The number of spaces is limited, so you must book at least two days before your visit on (02) 9217 0505 to avoid disappointment.
Discounted parking is available for Powerhouse visitors at the Entertainment Centre car park, see Parking for more details. A walkway (mostly covered) joins the Entertainment Centre car park levels 3A and 3B and the Powerhouse Museum Monorail Station to the Powerhouse entry forecourt. There are no stairs, but the walk is quite steep and long.
In the Powerhouse you can access all the main levels via ramps and the lift. For visitors using manual wheelchairs, the lift is recommended. Groups of visitors with more than one person in a wheelchair can get supervised access to an additional lift by booking in advance on (02) 9217 0222.
Wheelchairs can be borrowed at no charge from the cloaking desk in the main entrance foyer.
Toilets designed for disabled access are provided in each of the toilet blocks. There are toilets on levels 1, 2 and 4 and in the Courtyard.
This sign is found throughout the Powerhouse. It means that services are available for the hearing impaired.
Induction loops are fitted in the theatres and cinema. Visitors with hearing aids should use their ‘T’ switch to pick up good, clear sound.
