The 80s were a coming of age for Australian cinema and television. New tax incentives encouraged investors to plough money into the industry and the result was not only a boom in production but a new confidence in the way Australians presented themselves to the world. From Mad Max to Neighbours, Crocodile Dundee to Prisoner, Australian stories were making an impact on international screens. This section of the exhibition looks at some of the large and small screen stories of the decade.
