Hip Hop Weekend
26–27 June 2010
Experience what made hip hop great in the 80s and still a vibrant culture today. Take hip hop dance lessons with ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ choreographer Tiana Canterbury; see NAIDOC Week-themed banners painted by Redfern Community Centre; hear Koori Radio broadcast on site; watch live performances that include First Flight Crew, the All Consciousness Crew (including Bboy 2ezy) and the legendary 80s rapper Munki Muk. Listen to Rosano Martinez from Sound Unlimited share his experiences of Hip Hop in the 80s. Explore The 80s are back exhibition too!
Activities are included with Museum admission unless indicated ($25 family, $10 adult, $5 student/ child).
Get your hip hop crew together and if there’s more than 10 of you, you’ll get a group discount! Group rates per person are $6 adult, $4 student and $3.50 child.
