‘In a monastery garden, I leap over The Wall’ with Fabian LoSchiavo

Fabion Lo Shiavo (aka Mother Inferior)

Fabion Lo Shiavo (aka Mother Inferior)

Sunday 7 March
2pm – 3pm

How did a quiet pious boy from Marsfield in the central northern suburbs of Sydney end up centre stage in an 80s controversy surrounding religion, sexuality and the media, when all he wanted was to be a priest in a little known medieval order? Who is to blame? The spirit of the 80s? Perhaps…? Lunacy? Secularism? The second Vatican Council? Gay Liberation?

The 80s for Fabian LoSchiavo was a culmination of all sorts of expectations; the permanent end of some and the refining of others. Fabian LoSchiavo will try to summarise the 80s experience in a very personal way and let the audience get involved in the transformation! If you are interested in religion, sexuality and a late coming of age, Fabian’s story might have something for you.
