80s Mod Revival Weekend

From scooters to ski pants, white lipstick and winkle pickers, find out what 80s mods watched, wore and rode. See scooters on display, watch mod films, and view daily mod fashion parades. Get out on the dance floor with go-go dance lessons for the whole family or groove to pop, beat, R&B, soul and ska tracks from our live DJ. Explore the mod experience in ‘The 80s are back’ exhibition.
During the day, on Saturday 15 May, hear a talk from Siobhán Ellis (President of the Lambretta Club of Australia). On Sunday 16 May, join Lambretta and Vespa enthusiasts for a ‘show and shine’ scooter parade and display. If you have a classic scooter (designed before 1990) and want to be part of ‘show and shine’, contact louiset@phm.gov.au. Entry is included with Museum admission, $10 adult, $5 child, $6 concession, free for members.
On Saturday night from 7pm, join us for live performances from The Introverts, Division 4, and The Sets, as well as Sydney ska pop band The Allniters. Get your copy of ‘Stark Raving Mod!’ signed by authors Ariana Klepac and Winston (Bill) Posters, as they launch this brand new book. Look sharp in your favourite mod gear! Food and drink will be available to purchase from the bar. Over 18s only. $28 adult, $24 members, $24 groups of 8 or more.
