Energetic, youthful and bold, the Sydney 2000 Games celebrated Australia?s cultural diversity and looked forward to the new millennium. In particular, its graphic design set a distinctive look and attitude and unified most visual elements of the Games including banners, signage, uniforms, medals, temporary architecture, official merchandise and publications.
Central to this look and image, the ?Kit of parts?, or branding package, combined the work of around 15 Australian design groups whose ideas, when manifested throughout the Games, conveyed a sense of energy and innovation. The legacy of their work is now reflected in the Sydney 2000 Games Collection, its hundreds of objects and documents illustrating the trademarks, logos, colour palettes, mascots and other graphic design elements of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
