Spinning around: 50 years of Festival Records

Festival Mushroom Records today: still spinning around

Festival Mushroom Records today

Festival Records merged with Mushroom Records in 1998. The combined entity has the largest catalogue of Australian recorded music. Today Festival aims to develop new Australian music for the world market. Current artists include 28 Days, Gerling and Lash, as well as enduring stars like Kylie Minogue. The music industry faces new market challenges. Musical tastes have diversified and technology is making an impact on how consumers purchase music. Festival Mushroom Records faces other unique challenges in developing Australasian music for local and international consumption.
