Golden Fleece pump globe, 1950s
This famous pump globe is based on David, a prize merino ram. It was created for Golden Fleece service stations during the 1950s.
Single-brand service stations did not appear until this period. Distinctive pumps, typically capped with illuminated sculpted globes, were essential when ‘servos’ still offered a variety of competing petrol brands.
