Design-savvy shoppers on the lookout for the next big thing should mark in their diaries the return of Young Blood: Designers Market to the Powerhouse Museum, 27 – 29 July 2012.
Sydney’s only curated markets, Young Blood lets you see first-hand the innovative designs coming from young minds, right across the country.
You’ll be able to talk to designers, buy their wares and perhaps even get your hands on work of famous designers of the future – from fashion, jewellery, furniture, homewares, lighting, graphic work and new products.
While you are shopping, enjoy the cool strains of our in-house DJ Lyndon Pike as well as live performances by Bakelite Broadcasters, with Sydney’s only authentic 1920s – 1930s singer and swing jazz musicians Bob Barnard and Paul Furniss.
Plus don’t forget to visit some of the Museum’s fabulous design exhibitions. Check out the work of Angie Turbull in The Deardorff Project, take a glimpse into the next generation of Australian fashion designers at Student Fashion, and see large-scale installations, textiles, fashion and jewellery as part of Love Lace.
First launched during Sydney Design 05, the Young Blood: Designers Market has since grown into a regular event as part of the Museum’s commitment to foster and promote Australian design.
As well as access to thousands of shoppers, Young Blood brings designers in contact with industry, media and commercial networks to help take their product to the next level.
Mark it in your calendar; it’s not to be missed.
