Animation: lace flowers using stop motion technique
Artist statement
‘Since 2000 I have worked with drawings in the air. I sew ordinary sewing thread together with itself — it becomes a drawing in the air — in two or three dimensions. The work has a fragile beauty. Transparency, light and shadow interest me.
My work is not traditional lace. Empty space is a very important part of my pictures. I find the construction of things beautiful. Beauty is a mystery in life. We respond to beauty with emotion.’
