String bag
Doreen Linkinjwang
Dimensions
530 x 835 mm
Materials
Looped Kurrajong tree wood and feathers
Artist statement
‘String bags can vary greatly. I use a mix of natural wooden fibre and bird feathers to create striking variations of coloured bands. I use a traditional type of looping to produce different patterns and textured finishes.
I keep on teaching these traditional techniques to my daughter and granddaughters.’
