Knock-off time

Men in works yard

This image has been added to the Commons on Flickr and it comes from the Clyde Engineering collection, most of which were photographed at the Clyde works in Granville that depict not only the machinery but also the workers, such as the image above. We have around 1300 ½ plate glass negatives and approximately 4000 triacetate negatives in the Clyde engineering collection.

The description in our database for the image above reads:

Photographic glass plate negative, ploughs, steam roller components and men in works yard, Clyde Engineering Pty Ltd, Australia, 1900-1930

A rectangular black and white silver gelatin glass plate negative in landscape format. The image depicts a view of Clyde works yard outside the timber office, with ploughs in background and dismantled steam roller components in the foreground and men running, perhaps to Granville Station for knock-off.
