This image, showing a brass band, is from the Thomas Lennon photographic archive and was taken on the 10th July 1932. This scene was part of the Mystery Hike No. 2 from Valley Heights in the lower Blue Mountains in which 2000 people participated in the very popular mystery walking tour.
A Flickr member, Don Shearman , has left a comment on this image identifying the music from zooming in on the details at the persistent URL, it is ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’. He says “This was a hit for Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians in December 1931.
