This image was taken in the interior of the steam loco 3830 during a NSW Rail Transport steam train trip to Lithgow. The Powerhouse Museum steam loco 3830 and a maintenance crew were hired to assist in hauling the Blue Mountains Flyer steam train at a regional event organised by the NSW Transport Museum, on the 20th September last year. This short depth-of-field image of the shovel and coals was one of many images taken during this trip. We had two photographers travelling in cars alongside the loco whilst it made its way up the mountains. They occasionally had the chance to stop when the loco was stationary.
