This image of Clifton Gardens1884-1917, Kerry and Co is one of our Tyrrell photographic images on the Commons project on Flickr. This amazing circular wharf situated on the north side of Sydney harbour was a swimming bath that used to extend into Chowder Bay with a very high diving tower on the right hand side. If you use the zooming tool on our collection search you can see a little girl standing at the end of the ferry wharf with the old gaslights just above her. The original glass plate negative has been marked with ’87′ which must be 1887, the year this image was taken. The swimming baths are no longer there, so when did they get removed?
