These two elegantly dressed women were photographed at Warwick Farm race course by Tom Lennon in January, 1934.
In the 1930s, the racecourse was as popular a place to see and be seen as it had been in the previous century and Lennon photographed many fashionable racegoers at Warwick Farm around this time, some of which have been posted previously on Photo of the Day. Warwick Farm was a relatively new venue, purchased by the Australian Jockey Club in 1922, and, looking at Lennon’s photographs, it appears to have been as glamorous a destination as Royal Randwick.
For other photographs of Sydney racegoers see previous postings on Photo of the Day.
