Celebrating in style

This photograph, from the David Mist archive, shows television production assistant, Jan Lawler c. 1969. Jan Lawler was working in Europe for Paramount Pictures at the time David Mist photographed her for his 1969 publication, Made in Australia, a celebration of Australian women achievers and ‘trendsetters’.

Jan Lawler left Waverley in Sydney to hitch-hike around Europe and somehow walked into a job with Paramount…She now lives in Rome and is friends with Rex Harrison and Ava Gardner and the Burtons, (for whom she worked). She lazes at Portofino, Positano, Capri, Ischia and Ponza…
