What we see in this image is a detail of the Bowl, a water jet-cut steel sculpture by an Australian artist Michael Snape. Michael was one of the finalists in the Powerhouse Museum International Lace Award and this photograph was taken during the delivery of his artwork to the Museum for display in the Love Lace exhibition.
The exhibition is still open to the public and showcases works by 134 artists from 20 countries using 100 different materials ranging from steel to horse hair, many of which challenge our traditional perception about lace and lace-making.
