This photograph, from the museum’s Tyrrell Collection shows a boy fishing from a boat at an unidentified location.
The vertical format with a large expanse of water in the background of the image and the main subject in the relatively small proportion of the foreground lends a quasi-Japanese feel to the image. The photograph, with its peaceful idyllic atmosphere may have been intended for reproduction as a postcard.
