Faith, fashion, fusion: Integrity Boutique

Faith, fashion, fusion: Muslim women's style in Australia. Howayda Moussaand Henadi Chehab inside Integrity Boutique.

Pictured here are sisters Howayda Moussa (left) and Hanadi Chehab (right) of Integrity Boutique, founded in January 2010. Howayda and Hanadi design and retail modest evening and formal wear aimed at both Muslim and non-Muslim women.

We always wanted our clothing to be for everyone… We want the Muslim woman to feel that she’s not different to anyone else and that she can still engage with fashion.

Howayda and Hanadi describe their designs, marketing and retail approach as being inspired by European and local trends, including Chanel and Alannah Hill. They use a lot of feminine colours, bold prints and patterned fabrics, as well as pearl and lace trimmings. Their store also evokes a very chic, French feel with black and white striped wallpaper and crystal chandeliers.
