Here is another Jozef Vissel photograph of the Sydney Opera House – this time, at sunset, and appropriately dated to the 1980s (c.1985 in fact)! The shot has been taken using slow exposure and captures the Opera House with Sydney Harbour and a passing ferry in the foreground. Undoubtedly, it is the vibrant colours in this photograph which is most striking and visually captivating, framed by the silhouette of the city skyline behind it. As you would see from some of my earlier posts, this photograph complements Vissel’s other Opera House related shots in our collection, including the famous portrait of Utzon demonstrating the gull’s wing outline and interior photograph of the Opera House looking out through the glass walls of the western foyer.
