Significance statement
Fahai Temple, located in the western part of Peking, was built in 1443. The interiors of the halls in the temple precinct are painted with murals. Today only a few mural paintings remain (in Daxiongbao Hall).
Production notes
This is one of a large number of photographs that were taken by Hedda Morrison (1908-1991) during her years of residence in Peking (Beijing), China 1933-1946.
