Saturday, 22 October, 3.30pm

Internationally-renowned, Vienna-based jeweller Jacqueline Lillie presents a one-off free lecture about her rare and exquisite contemporary craft. Lillie’s unique works, which require the steadiest of hands and feature thousands of Bohemian glass, metal and pearl beads, have found their way into museums around the world.

Curator spot talks
11.15am-12.15pm and 2.15pm-2.15pm daily

The curators of one of Australia’s largest design and decorative arts galleries give 15 minute spot talks. This is a rare opportunity to hear about the valuable, precious, quirky, unique, historic and most-loved design works of today and over the last 300 years.

Musical chairs
12noon-12.45pm and 2.30pm-3.15pm daily

Comedian ‘Krispin K’, aka Nigel Sutton, hosts musical chairs backed by the sounds of Sydney DJ NickNak. In a new twist, the game features images of the more unusual contemporary and historic chairs from Inspired! including the ‘Wiggle’ chair, a chair called ‘Joe’ in the shape of a baseball mitt, and Governor Macquarie’s armchair.

Two lucky visitors will get the opportunity to dress up in ladies costumes from the early 1900s in a special demonstration.

Live jazz and flute music can be enjoyed over lunch and afternoon tea in the Museum’s outdoor and indoor cafes. Hear the Yamaha piano accompany the flute in a relaxed recital inspired by the new gallery.
