The Foundation has had a very busy few months. The first Brought to Light luncheon of 2007 with guest speaker Dr Claire Roberts offered us a private viewing of Ah Xian’s “China, China – bust 39” as well as insights into the work of this exceptional artist.

A second Brought to Light luncheon with guest speaker Tom Parker Bowles, author of The Year of Eating Dangerously, was also a resounding success. Guests were able to hear Tom’s hilarious stories of extreme food adventures, and take away a signed copy of his book.

The Foundation’s multiple aims of raising money, supporting and highlighting the collection, and building relationships came together in a fundraising concert at the home of Foundation Ambassador, Angela Belgiorno-Zegna. Guests at this exclusive cocktail evening - A Night with Jane Rutter – were fortunate enough to hear Jane perform on the gold flute she recently donated to the Museum’s collection. Jane Rutter has had an extraordinary career that crosses a number of musical genres, and has just released an album of Gershwin pieces with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

This event raised $26,225 for the Foundation endowment fund, highlighting the significant and generous support being gathered by the Museum for its collection.

The Powerhouse Foundation would like to thank the following companies for their generous support in reaching the fundraising goal for this event:

Along with this flute performance, the Foundation was delighted to host Sounds in Store, a piano concert featuring John Foreman at the Powerhouse Discovery Centre on Saturday 26th May. Five of the keyboards stored in the Museum’s vast instrument collection were used to showcase the depth of this collection and inspire donors to continue to give generously.
