Australian Inventions

Australia is home to some of the world’s most ingenious inventions. The Australian Inventions display tells the story of four of this country’s brightest ideas and features a number of objects from the Museum’s collection.

One inventor's big idea was a marvellous contraption for making mouse traps. Another cracked the secret recipe for a popular breakfast spread. One lived up to his bold dream of creating a bionic ear, and two inventors, working together, designed software to speed up the making of animated movies.

Visit the Australian Inventions display to find out more about their success. Plus pick up a copy of the Australian Inventions Trail and discover other great Aussie inventions hidden amongst exhibitions throughout the Museum.
