EcoLogic: creating a sustainable future
A new permanent exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum, EcoLogic provides a framework to consider information about social, economic and environmental issues. Sustainable development is a key strategy for moving Australia towards a better future. The exhibition covers key problems in urban, rural and coastal environments and presents solution-based case studies. With its focus on contemporary issues, EcoLogic is designed to provoke discussion and debate cornerstones of active citizenship. This exhibition gives students a context for both analysing current problems and formulating their own solutions. EcoLogic is proudly sponsored by Holden.

Sustainable House
Michael Mobbs and Heather Armstrong renovated their inner city house using sustainable design principles. The Mobbs family (pictured) makes more electricity than their household can use, so their electricity bills are in credit. During the day, 18 solar panels on the roof collect energy from sunlight. Excess energy is pumped into the electricity grid by day and drawn back in the evenings. In addition no water leaves the site either from rainwater or waste water. The Mobbs household also treat their own sewerage on site. Find out more at http://www.sustainablehouse.com.au.
