In the Powerhouse Museum's digital learning precinct, Thinkspace, students can take part in creative digital media workshops that are designed to enhance and extend knowledge and skills in key curriculum areas. Teachers are invited to join the collaborative learning process and take an active role in the workshops. Pathways to Space
Pathways to Space is an innovative project designed to encourage students in Stages 5 and 6 to consider university studies and careers in science. In a FREE one day program students interact with research scientists and participate in simulated missions that focus on the planning and execution of robotic explorations of Mars. They discover and explore the exciting world of real robotics and astrobiology research. Custom software allows the students to drive a virtual Mars rover before the second part of the exercise takes them to the Mars Yard (located within the Museum), where they control one of the two roving vehicles navigating across the recreated 140 square metre Marscape. book now...

Lace Study Centre
The Lace Study Centre provides access to about 300 of the most significant examples of handmade lace in the Powerhouse Museum’s collection. Visit the Lace Study Centre to independently research pieces in the Powerhouse Museum’s collection and find out more from the volunteer lace enthusiasts who staff the centre. Everyone with a passion for these intricate and extraordinary textiles, including lacemakers, embroiderers, students and designers, is invited to use this unique resource.
