The collection field of Indigenous Australian history and culture records the issues and objects of Indigenous Australian society post 1788. The emphasis of the collection is on highlighting the Koori culture in the New South Wales region but does not exclude other Indigenous Australian cultures. The collection includes audio and video documentation, oral histories, literature, music and musical instruments, fine and decorative art, sport and leisure objects to chart the changes in Aboriginal culture and society.
