The poster communicates contemporary Indigenous performance. It demonstrates the success of the 'Box the Pony' play with Leah Purcell presenting both national and international performances. Written by Leah Purcell and Scott Rankin it tells the story of Leah and her childhood growing up on a mission in Queensland. 'Box the Pony' emphasizes the recent success of many contemporary Indigenous performances both nationally and internationally.
This poster was produced by Performing Lines, a Sydney based touring facilitator for independent performers and small companies. They collaborated with The Observer Assembly in 1999 to tour 'Box the Pony' to Scotland for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
This poster was printed in Scotland, the name of the printer is unknown.
