Sugar bowl, earthenware, Adelaide Handbuilt School, South Australia, 1940-1950
Sugar bowl, with cover, earthenware, hand-built in a very folksy manner, the vessel of oval section resting upright on a rectangular base and features a flat front and back and a simple loop handle either side of the rectangular opening on the curved top, the cover (-2) has a deep vertical flange set below and a larger curved rectangular top with small bar knop and incised line border, the front and back panels of the sugar bowl with simple hand carved foliate decoration, interior and exterior in a flat and opaque cream glaze.
