Bread crock, earthenware, T G and A G Bosley, South Australia, 1935-1942.
Bread crock, with cover, earthenware, press-moulded, large squat globular form with flat base, steeply rounded sides and a thick rounded lip encircling the wide mouth, detailed with two incised bands which encircle the body, small moulded lug handles at upper mid body. Circular cover fits within the mouth of bread crock resting on a narrow ledge and features an [applied] rope-twist handle, two pierced air vents and incised bands. The cover underside is flat. Exterior of bread crock and cover polychrome glazed with a mottled and streaky green, brown and cream lead glaze, interior surfaces and underside glazed pale yellow.
