Lamp base, earthenware, T G and A G Bosley, South Australia, 1930-1940.
Electric lamp base, wheel-thrown [and lathe cut], in art deco style. Cylindrical form with flat base and straight sides which feature evenly spaced horizontal bands with each band angled slightly outward presenting tidy ridges at their top edge, the shoulder tapering sharply to a narrow waisted neck with small rounded lip. The lamp base with an opening under the base, pierced above the base, glazed with a deep green lead glaze. Fitted with a modern white plastic bayonet-type lamp holder with switch at top and a 3.5 metre length of white two-phase electrical cord with three point plug extends from the hole above the base.
