A lace panel, bobbin lace technique, made of cotton. Rectangular in shape, this lace panel depicts the Australian Coat of Arms. The Central shiefl is broken into six sections with each state emblem represented, flanked to the left with a standing emu and to the right a kangaroo, above the shield is a seven-pointed star representing the statesand territories. This lace panel is made using the bobbin lace technique with an open triangular ground, each bride with a double opposed picot. Narrow border has a plaited edge trim and the design motifs are worked as sectional lace using mainly braid lace techniques. This lace panel is made of cotton.
