Guitar-shaped violin, timber, maker unknown, [Klingenthal/Schonback], [Saxony, Germany], [1900-1940].

Guitar-shaped body with crudely-cut 'flaming sword' soundholes; single purfling; light golden varnish; artificial aging to front, back and sides; neck and scroll in one piece with imitation graft joint at volute; fittings of black-stained rosewood.

Stamped in crescent below button on back; "Gusetto".
