Description
Wall hanging, 'Melooni', cotton, designed by Maija Isola, made by Marimekko, Finland, 1963.

Textile length of white cotton screenprinted in red, orange, magenta pink and dark green with a design titled 'Melooni'. The design features a pattern of three different coloured oval, concentric bands on a red ground. The textile length has been modified for hanging. Selvedges have been cut away and the length has machine turned hems on all edges with a narrow channel at the lower edge and a wide channel at the upper edge.
