Medal, commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar, with case, silver plated [pewter] / metal, engraved by Conrad Heinrich Kuchler, struck at the Soho Mint, Birmingham, England, 1805
Conrad Heinrich Kuchler, medallist and engraver, worked for Matthew Boulton at his Soho Mint. The medal was struck at the Soho Mint in Birmingham, England in 1800.
Medal commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805. The medal was awarded to survivors of the battle. The battle was fought off Cape Trafalgar, Spain, during the Napoleonic Wars.

Description
Medal, commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar, with case, silver plated [pewter] / metal, engraved by Conrad Heinrich Kuchler, struck at the Soho Mint, Birmingham, England, 1805

Round silver plated medal. The obverse has a central effigy of the head and shoulders of Admiral Nelson in uniform. The legend is 'HORATIO VISCOUNT NELSON.K.B.DUKE OF BRONTE.&'. The arm of Nelson is marked with 'C.H.K'. The obverse has a naval battle scene and the legend is 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN TO DO HIS DUTY / TRAFALGAR / OCTR.21.1805'. The rim of the medal is raised. The edge has a legend of 'FROM M:BOULTON TO THE HEROES OF TRAFALGAR'. The round metal case is in two parts.
