These accessories were made to accompany the 'Torres Strait Island Female' (2001/84/80) and 'Torres Strait Island male' (2001/84/81) costumes in the "Oi! Oi! Oi!" exhibition, at Sydney Olympic Park, 6-21 January 2001.

Performance costume accessories, for 'Torres Strait island' costume, used in 'Oi! Oi! Oi!' exhibition, Sydney, 2001

Accessories for Torres Strait Island costume. The accessories include 2 Cassowary feather switches. The switches consist of a bundle of cassowary feathers that have been attached to a wooden stick using glue and twine. There are also cassowary feather armbands, 2 pairs. The armbands consist of a woven band of bamboo to which bunches of cassowary feathers have been attached. There are also 2 single armbands and a headdress. These armbands and the headdress consists of bunches cassowary feathers that have been stitched together with plastic or woollen twine.
