Collection of ceramics (56 pieces), Nell [and Bob (Robert)] McCredie, Epping, NSW, c. 1939.
Nell McCredie, born Sydney 1901 died Sydney 1968.
Bob (Robert) McCredie, born Sydney 1910
Nell studied under L.J Harvey while working in Brisbane as a consulting architect; c. 1932 she returned to Sydney and established a pottery at Epping; 1933 or 1934 she was joined by her brother Bob (Robert) McCredie; they made domestic wares on a commercial basis for supply to gift shops and restaurants, but Nell continued to make individual pieces for display at the Arts & Crafts Society NSW; 1947 and 1951 Nell won the Arts & Crafts Society's Elizabeth Soderberg Memorial Award for pottery; the McCredies maintained a city depot for their pottery in George Street opposite Wynyard station, where students were taught.

Notes on the blue file regarding dates say the pottery was established in Epping c. 1932. In 1933 or 1934 Nell McCredie's brother Bob (Robert) McCredie joined the pottery. Nell McCredie died in 1968 and Bob McCredie continued to operate the pottery until he retired in 1974.
