This road map was published by the Shell Touring Service, part of the Shell Oil Company of Australia Ltd. It was printed by P.C. Grosser, lithographer of Melbourne in September 1962.

Fold-out coloured road map. The cover features illustrations of a coastal city (possibly Newcastle), two cars travelling along a country road, a tree and some beaches. On one side is a route map from Sydney to Brisbane showing as far west as Moree and Goondiwindi, together with city plans of Brisbane, Sydney, as well as the town plans of Tuncurry, Forster, Grafton, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. On the reverse side are maps of Summerland and the Pacific Beautizone and partial town plans maps of Southport, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, Currumbin, Coolangatta and Bilinga. The map shows the main sealed and unsealed roads, as well as minor roads and tracks, National Route Numbers, railways, and total mileages and intermediate mileages between centres. Shell fuel supplies (marked with a small sea shell), show the locations of service stations on the partial town plans.
