Toy circus bus, tin plate / plastic, made by MD, Japan, c. 1960

Toy circus bus made in tin plate, battery operated with a red and white plastic clown bus driver. The bus has been finished in red enamel with yellow and blue detailing and has a red and white striped roof. A number of animals including lions, tigers and bears can been seen through the bus windows and 'BIG RING CIRCUS' has been printed along both sides of the bus in white and gold paint. A section of the roof can be opened to allow the batteries to be installed. The clown bus driver is wearing a red and white suit and one of its arms is missing.

Marks
Manufacturers marks on the rear of the bus, 'PAT. NO. / 557116 / 16398 / 701170 / 24962' and 'TRADE MARK / MT / MODERN TOYS / MADE IN JAPAN' are printed in black.
