Description
Toy robot, 'Talking Robot', tin plate/plastic, Japan, c.1965.
Toy 'Talking Robot', painted metal body predominantly in red, silver and yellow the body is solid with no seperate legs, the head has a red cap with a silver peak, a visor of clear plastic, beneath which are images representing working parts and two green plastic stalks representing eyes. On the ches is a penel with holes for sound release, and printed in the midle "TALKING ROBOT" visable through the holes is a blue speaker, a the base of the chest is a small yellow plastic button with the word "PUSH" to activate the speach mechanism. The robot is battery operated with a cavity at the base for a single battery (battery removed). The arms are moveable. The on/ off switch is a white plastic leaver situated in a cavity at the back of the body.
