Typescripts (3), photocopies, and cards (3), death and funeral of Dahl Collings, Dahl and Geoffrey Collings, Killcare Heights, New South Wales, Australia, April 1988

Photocopy of four page typescript written by Geoffrey Collings entitled 'Dahl Collings cremation ceremony 13th April 1988' as well as a card with information about the death of Dahl Collings on 9 April 1988 and her physical struggle during the final year of her life. The card also contains a colour photographic print (90 h x 147 w) of the last photograph taken of Dahl and Geoffrey Collings. It was taken in the native garden of their home at Killcare Heights, New South Wales, by their friend and neighbour Michele Waddington who planted and looked after the garden for them. The text in Geoffrey Collings' handwriting reads, 'Dahl died in peaceful sleep at 12:30 on the afternoon of Saturday 9 April/ 1988. For the last year of her life she could no longer draw or paint./ Her greatest joy was her native garden, planted & cared for by/ our loved and loving friend Michele Waddington, who took/ this, the last (& most precious) photograph of Dahl & me together./ Dahl's courageous spirit lives on in her work and in her/ children & her grandchildren.'

Copies of the card as well as the funeral oration were sent to family and friends.
