Toy double decker bus, tin plate, made by Wells, England, c. 1935

Toy double decker bus made in tin plate. Finished in red, white, blue and yellow with images of passangers painted on the windows. A cut out passanger controller stands in the doorway. 'THANKS FOR BUYING / BRITISH' is printed in white and 'NATIONAL SERVICE' in yellow on either side of the bus.

Marks
'THANKS FOR BUYING / BRITISH' is printed in white and 'NATIONAL SERVICE' in yellow on either side of the bus. Other text on the bus includes 'NATIONAL / SERVICE / W1934 / BRITISH TOYS / ARE / THE BEST' on the rear of the bus and 'LONDON TO / BIRMINGHAM, GLASGOW, / MANCESTER, CARDIFF, / BRIGTON, BRISTOL.' is printed on the front. 'BALLOON TYRE 5 x 19' is printed on all the tyres.
