Toy airliner, Dinky Imperial Airways Liner (60a), metal, made by Meccano Ltd, Liverpool, England, 1934-1936
It is representative of the full-size Armstrong Whitworth XV (Atalanta class) aircraft. a small British airliner of the 1930s used by Imperial Airways between India, Singapore, Kenya and South Africa and could carry seventeen passengers.

Toy airliner, Dinky Imperial Airways Liner (60a), metal, made by Meccano Ltd, Liverpool, England, 1934-1936
Toy Atalanta Imperial Airways airliner made from die-cast metal and finished in cream paintwork with green tin-plate wing tips and tail. The toy is a high-wing monoplane with four engines, epresentative of the full-size Armstrong Whitworth XV (Atalanta class) aircraft, and modelled in a scale 1:217.
Made: 1934 - 1936
Marks
'MECCANO / DINKY TOYS' and 'MADE / IN / ENGLAND' embossed on underside of plane.
