Description
Glass negative, quarter plate, portrait of Brother Jonathan, Tom Lennon, Sydney, Australia, 9 October 1938
This head-and-shoulders portrait of a bare-chested bearded man was stored in a box labelled "Brother Jonathan 9/10/38'. He is probably the 1930s American professional wrestler Brother Jonathan (Jonathan Delaun Heaton) who was also a Mormon preacher. He was known as the "Salt Lake rattlesnake". Heaton died 21 September 1987, aged 83.
Photographed: Lennon, Tom; Sydney; 1938
