This toy comes from a group of twelve items donated by Michael Henry. It is well-provenanced, having been received as a Christmas present and used by the donor's brother Jason Henry.

The toy includes it original packaging. It can be used to illustrate themes relating to children, domestic life and the family. It is also relevant the marketing of products to children, and the importance of transport themes in children's toys.

Used by the donor Michael Henry (born 1973), his brother Jason and sister Karen. The Henry family lived at Bankstown. The Jumbo Jet belonged to Jason Henry as a child. The donor Michael Henry told the acquiring curator 'My brother Jason wanted to be a pilot. He got the Qantas jumbo jet under the Christmas tree. He was unable to become a pilot because they said he was colour blind'.
